This website was created to share pictures, documents, and research materials regarding my grandfather, Eduardo Migliaccio. It is an evolving work in progress.
Eduardo Migliaccio was an entertainer, affectionately known as Farfariello, Little Butterfly. His career started in the early 1900’s, in the small theaters of New York City's Little Italy. He created the Macchietta Coloniale, character sketches combining verse, prose, and song satirizing the immigrant experience of Italian-Americans in the United States. He performed live, on the radio, on record albums, and in film. |
Appreciation and recognition goes to the scholars and fans who keep his memory alive. None of this would be possible without the dedication of several people in our family, most notably Eduardo's daughters Alma and Flavia who maintained scrapbooks of his work and kept his home office in pristine condition. In order to preserve his legacy, much of his material was donated to the Immigration History Research Center at the University of Minnesota.
Sincerely, Richard A. Migliaccio January, 2023 |
